@adamabeshouse was an incredible father, mentor an @adamabeshouse was an incredible father, mentor and friend to so many. a humble man, a lynchpin of his community and greatly admired by anyone who met him. this is all before mentioning: a three time @recordingacademy Grammy award + Latin Grammy award winning recording engineer and producer of 900+ records over a career spanning 4 decades, working regularly with the worlds most accomplished artists in the greatest temples of acoustic sound from @skywalkersound to @airstudioslyndhurst (before he then built his own custom concert hall recording studio). add to this being an accomplished violinist who performed everywhere.Adam Abeshouse is a titan of industry. He defined the gold standard of sound for an entire genre of music. He had an outstanding knowledge of tradition and nuance, which he paired with a penchant for pushing boundaries and unmatched empathy in bringing through an artist’s vision. His genius manifested through his understanding of music as a universal language, and how to capture live performance into timeless sound. this went beyond the bounds of classical music.Adam passed away last Thursday from cancer. He will forever be one of the best and most humble people I’ve known. He is deeply intertwined and influential in all the music I’ve written to date, and will be in all the notes that are to come. I’ll forever hold onto the first piece of advice he gave me when I was barely starting out: “trust your ears”. Whether it’s listening this wisdom in my head as I navigate the world without him, or the sounds in my Genelecs, I’ll always follow his words to the best of my ability. Adam’s legacy continues with the Classical Recording Foundation, an organization he started in 2002 to catalyze and stimulate the classical music recording field.
