celebrating the release of cinematic chromatics vol IIIthe completion of a trilogy series that joined the dots between my many and varied musical worlds 🌎🌍🌏🪐🛸pursuing this whole thing as a total indie, with an incredible community of artists who helped bring this music to life from 2020-2022. starting from zero on all platforms in Feb 2023 with the release of “Ride The Dragon” 🐉 from Vol. I to the “Current Location” 📍on vol. III this past Friday, the past two years have been an incredible journey 💙 more to share about the record/series with some behind the scenes coming very soon. grateful to these radio outlets for giving the EP and feature track Current Location some love so far @nts_radio @chchchen for the station debut + @domservini and @tonyminvielle inviting me for a chat on his excellent @jazzfmuk show last week for a chat. some good words from the artistic genius visionary @quetzilla_mvmt who not only conceived of the visuals for the Cinematic Chromatics series, but single handedly painted each cover graffiti style on a wall in his hometown. in what started as me reaching out to him about doing a simple painting for one single turned into three distinct yet connected covers for what became a trilogy. he then surprised me by taking his concept and bringing it to life in the truest form, true to his roots, and speaking to the streets of Brooklyn where much of this music was written and recorded. for me, his Art perfectly encapsualtes the music in visual form: a universe of colour, abstract arrangements, melding of styles and genres into cohesive and inspired narratives 🎶👾🎮📻🎧🖌️🎨🖼️this behind the scenes clip comes ahead of the release of C I N E M A T I C C H R O MA T I C S V O L I I Ithe third and final ep in the trilogy serieswith feature single C U R R E N T L O C A T I O N 📍dropping this Friday Feb 7 🚀sound inspires imagination 💡imagination sparks creativity 🎨creativity necessitates finding practical outcomes, problem solving and collaboration that influences our world 🌎 #jazz #newmusic #lyon #graffiti #brooklyn #composer #artist

III ahead of its release this F R I D A Y F E B 7th 🎯🚀💙 here’s a little excerpt on how the series came about: after two years writing for and playing in a band that hosted jams in an abandoned warehouse, I continued that momentum in writing new material for my own project. The first demo of this series began on a Feb 6 2020. I know this because that was the name of the pro tools session file, until it became “Ride The Dragon”. the writing, recording, mixing and mastering process wouldn’t be complete until the middle of 2022. I can’t really overstate how much I was building the plane while flying it. I moved between writing expansive cinematic jazz and orchestral arrangements to other tracks that were a futuristic fusion of lo-fi inspired jazzy beats, Brazilian influences and elecrornica elements. these are the sonic aesthetics that make my musical world what it is; and I wanted to join the dots between them to create a soundtrack for your everyday. the first single, Ride The Dragon, dropped in Feb of 2023. it seems fitting then to complete the series by releasing Vol. III and the last feature single “C U R R E N T L O C A T I O N” on Feb 7th. how most of my ideas start: when I’m away from the studio I could be in the park; on the subway; cooking; literally anywhere 🏞️🚇🧑🏼‍🍳🚿🎼📚there’s something about being in the world that inspires and opens the floodgates of new musical ideas 💡 🌎the goal is to then capture them as they happen (iPhone voice memos) and then turn them into something once I’m back in the studio 🎤🎹🎚️in this case, you can hear the initial vocal hook I came up with, which later got harmonized on the piano and recorded by my hermano the inimitable @benjaminfurmanmusica 🙏🏼💙next Friday Feb 7th I’ll be releasing C I N E M A T I C C H R O M A T I C S V O L. @adamabeshouse was an incredible father, mentor and friend to so many. a humble man, a lynchpin of his community and greatly admired by anyone who met him. this is all before mentioning: a three time @recordingacademy Grammy award + Latin Grammy award winning recording engineer and producer of 900+ records over a career spanning 4 decades, working regularly with the worlds most accomplished artists in the greatest temples of acoustic sound from @skywalkersound to @airstudioslyndhurst (before he then built his own custom concert hall recording studio). add to this being an accomplished violinist who performed everywhere.Adam Abeshouse is a titan of industry. He defined the gold standard of sound for an entire genre of music. He had an outstanding knowledge of tradition and nuance, which he paired with a penchant for pushing boundaries and unmatched empathy in bringing through an artist’s vision. His genius manifested through his understanding of music as a universal language, and how to capture live performance into timeless sound. this went beyond the bounds of classical music.Adam passed away last Thursday from cancer. He will forever be one of the best and most humble people I’ve known. He is deeply intertwined and influential in all the music I’ve written to date, and will be in all the notes that are to come. I’ll forever hold onto the first piece of advice he gave me when I was barely starting out: “trust your ears”. Whether it’s listening this wisdom in my head as I navigate the world without him, or the sounds in my Genelecs, I’ll always follow his words to the best of my ability. Adam’s legacy continues with the Classical Recording Foundation, an organization he started in 2002 to catalyze and stimulate the classical music recording field.
